Innovative Dentistry - Dental Implant integration

Soft-tissue integration is crucial for the long-term success of dental implants. However, the peri-implant epithelial barrier has sub-optimal function, leading to peri-implant disease and implant failure. We hypothesize that the barrier functions of the PIE can be enhanced to resemble those of a healthy JE through a similar Wnt-dependent mechanism. We aim to achieve this through topical application of a WNT therapeutic.
